Bloomington Community Radio, Inc. was founded in 1975 by a group of individuals who saw a need for community radio in the Bloomington area. WFHB became Indiana’s first community radio station in 1993, broadcasting at 91.3 FM.
WFHB exists to provide a neutral community forum for the exchange and discussion of ideas and issues, and to celebrate and increase the local cultural diversity.
Today, WFHB operates with the support of over 200 volunteers and a small paid staff creating music and news programming for all of South Central Indiana. WFHB is a member of the Public Radio Satellite System (PRSS), the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB), and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC).
WFHB is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that broadcasts non-commercial content at 91.3 FM for the greater South Central Indiana area, with translators at 98.1 FM in Bloomington, 100.7 FM in Nashville, and 106.3 FM in Ellettsville.
