Long-time WFHB volunteer Cindy Levindofske is pleased to announce a fundraising celebration to benefit the station. Simultaneously celebrating WFHB’s 15th year on-air, and honoring Cindy on her 50th birthday, “Six Degrees of Cindy” will take place at the John Waldron Arts Center Auditorium (corner of 4th and Walnut Streets—Bloomington) on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.. It will be an evening of musicians, storytellers, dancers, DJs, refreshments and more. Refreshments will be provided by FoodWorks and IndieBrew. According to Paul Sturm in the latest edition of Ryder Magazine, “Never before have so many stupendous talents been assembled under a single premise! It’s the event of the season!!”
Featured performers will include Krista Detor, Deke Hager and His Indonesian Fighting Cocks, Jason Fickel, Blue Sky Back (in their debut performance!), Curtis Cantwell-Jackson, Merrie Sloan, Khillbilly Caldera, storyteller Arbutus Cunningham, monologist Danielle McClelland, dancer Allana Radecki, DJ Kelly “The Shameless Dance Machine” Wherley, DJ Greg “The Rhythm Ranch Guy” Adams, Sacred Harp Singers, and The Bloomington Quarry Morris Dancers. Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for adults over 65 and students and children under 12. Tickets are available at all Bloomingfoods locations or at the door. Sponsors for the event include Roadworthy Guitar and Finch’s Brasserie.
