Minus the Bear at The Bluebird.
For over 30 years, The Bluebird Nightclub of Bloomington has been bringing some of the best music to Bloomington, and the midwest. With names like Leon Russell, Todd Snider, Junior Brown, Dickie Betts, Del McCoury, John Prine, John Hiatt, Johnny Cougar, The Wailers, Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Nickel Creek, and so many, many more… the Bluebird makes Bloomington a haven for great live music. Even in large cities, one venue rarely has so many varied, big name artists, and local favorites that consistently. If you’ve never been to the Bluebird, expect an intimate venue, where you can practically reach up to the stage, and shake hands with your favorite artist. Located conveniently downtown between 6th and 7th street on Walnut, the Bluebird is a tradition that spans many generations. Owner Dave Kubiak has kept the Bluebird a place of refuge for musicians, and the public alike. There are very few places like the Bluebird left in the U.S., a place where it’s easy to get to, a small enough venue to feel like you’re close to the band, and where the rapport with the audience is always electric.
